Alice Ruth Penberthy Lovasz McHugh, 94, passed away peacefully at Marymount Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio on November 7, 2021. She was born on September 9, 1927 to the late Thomas and Esther Penberthy in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

She was the beloved widow of Don Lovasz Sr (deceased) and Howard McHugh (deceased); mother of Paula (McHugh) Toms-Noga, Pat (Lovasz) Marshall (deceased), Mike Lovasz (deceased), Don Lovasz Jr and Jim Lovasz (deceased). Alice was the mother-in-law to Nancy, Polly, Phillip, and Connie; and she was the adoring grandmother of 14 and the idolizing great-grandmother of 17.

As a young widow she raised her four children, worked and attended night school earning her Bachelor and Master degrees at Cleveland State University to become an educator in the Garfield Heights School System where she helped develop the minds and lives of students … many of whom continued to remain in touch with her. She was also a member of the Bedford Church of the Nazarene and a regular participant at the Twinsburg Senior Center.

Family Memorial Service: Friday, November 12, 2021, 10:00-10:30 AM, Hines Funeral Home at Crown Hill.

Celebration of Life Service will then be held at 11:00 AM at Bedford Church of the Nazarene 365 Center Rd, Bedford, OH 44146, followed by a luncheon for attendees.
