Calvin Farrow, 69, of Cleveland, Ohio, died peacefully on February 16, 2025. He was born on July 3, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Vonce and Luevera Farrow (nee Leonard). Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, his namesake, Calvin Farrow, Jr., and his siblings, Carolyn Tate, Charles Farrow, and Vance Farrow. Shortly after graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army in 1975 as a Field Communication Electrical Mechanic and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.
During his time in Texas, he met his first wife, Angela Boone, and they married in 1977. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1978, he and Angela returned to his home city of Cleveland and began their life; his three children were a gift from this marriage. Unfortunately, they divorced in 1987; however, he fell in love again and married Jeanne Farrow in 1992. He worked in the U.S. Postal Service for numerous years, but after the death of Jeanne in 1998, he found his way to Washington, D.C., to reside near his three kids and later his grandchildren.
He attended the University of D.C and graduated (summa cum laude) with a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration. He worked in various capacities at the D.C. Courthouse. Calvin was known for his deep, intellectual conversations, which could turn into heated debates with his friends and family. He was a lover of football, initially the Cleveland Browns, but transitioned to the Washington Redskins. He enjoyed playing the D.C. lottery, visiting casinos when able, and spending time with his family.
Calvin will be dearly missed by his family. He was the loving father of Angela Farrow and Tamarra Farrow Stewart, the cherished grandfather of Sacred, Amara, Gabrielle, Trinity, Nava, Joi, and Winter, the dear brother of Vera Kelly, Michael (Angela) Farrow, and Jay Farrow, the beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. Wake at 11:30 am and service at noon. Military honors and inurnment at Evergreen Memorial Park, Bedford Heights, Ohio.
