Cherry Ann Monegan, age 79, of Beachwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on September 1, 2026.

Cherry was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and also worked as a Realtor and Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. She loved all things beautiful and especially enjoyed decorating, flowers, gardening, and landscaping. She loved swimming, hosting pool parties, celebrating holidays, entertaining, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Cherry was active with Grace Episcopal Church. She was involved with the Portage County Senior Center, volunteered with a Parkinson’s group called In Motion, and participated in SilverSneakers. Earlier in life, she was active with the Jaycees and served as a Girl Scout leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Lee Pope Jr. and Apolonia “Agnes” Merunski; her son, Gregory Monegan; her sister-in-law, Kim Monegan; and her brother-in-law, Edward Welsh.

Cherry is survived by her beloved husband John, daughter, Kelly Monegan (Gavin Kunkle); granddaughters, Shelby Miller (fiancé Nicklas Roth) and Kassidy Hirst; siblings, Yvonne (Edward) Welsh, Harry Lee Pope III (Marsha), Douglas Pope, Barbara Heinbaugh, and Robin (John) Hinton; and brothers-in-law, James Monegan (Diane), Lew Monegan (Becky), and Dennis Monegan.

Cherry will be remembered for her love of family, her generous spirit, and the beauty and joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
