Christine Bauer (née Fiorilli), 81, of Twinsburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025.
Born on May 12, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, Christine was the cherished daughter of the late Louis and Mary Fiorilli (née Cheselka). She was the devoted wife of the late Donald Edward Bauer and the beloved mother of Dawn Marie Anderson (late Scott) and Julianna Zimmerman (Walter). Christine's greatest joy was being a grandmother to James Donald Pope and Makenna Christine Zimmerman, whom she adored beyond words. She was a loving sister to Alan Fiorilli (Joann), Cheryl Stumpf (late Joseph), Dennis Fiorilli (Carolyn), Teresa Fiorilli-Bultrowicz, and the late Louis Fiorilli. She was also a treasured aunt, cousin, and friend to so many.
Christine had a heart full of creativity and a soul that thrived in nature. With skilled hands and a generous spirit, she spent countless hours crocheting, knitting, sewing, and cross-stitching—from delicate Barbie clothes to cherished baby blankets, each stitch woven with love. The outdoors was her sanctuary; she found peace on hiking trails, where she talked to the birds and squirrels, planted wildflowers, and gathered seeds to nurture new life each season. As a proud member of the Twinsburg Trail Blazers, she helped clear trails so that others could find the same joy she did in nature.
She was feisty, full of life, and never afraid to speak her mind—but behind that bold exterior was a heart of gold. She would drop everything to help someone in need, and her love knew no bounds. Being a grandmother was her greatest role, and she spoiled her grandchildren—and all who loved her—without hesitation.
Though her health kept her from the trails in later years, Christine never stopped dreaming. She studied maps and read books, always planning for the Appalachian Trail adventure she longed to take. Now, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is finally on that hike—walking endless trails, feeling the sun on her face, and waiting at heaven's gates until we meet again.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Christine's life on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by a graveside ceremony.
Christine's love, laughter, and adventurous spirit will be missed beyond measure, but her memory will live on in every wildflower, every stitch of a handmade gift, and every path we walk in her honor.
