David Homer Davies, age 89, a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living in Alliance, Ohio, went home to be with our Lord on December 24, 2020. He was born at home in Minerva, Ohio, on April 10, 1931, to Harold and Dorothy (Manful) Davies. He was a Korean war veteran who proudly served in the US Navy from 1950 to 1954, serving in Florida, Alabama, and Panama. He was an Aviation Machinist, Third Class, when Honorably discharged in 1954. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1949. He retired from the Timken Company in Canton in 1991. He loved hunting, fishing and watching westerns.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Haubert) Davies, daughter Wendy Davies Conrad, brother Larry Davies, sisters Colleen (Robert) Miller and Marion (Charles) Campbell, and stepmother Ida (Schandel) Davies. He is survived by sons Brian (Buzz) (Terry) Davies of Sherrodsville and Brad (Jennifer) Davies of Robertsville, as well as half-brothers Kenny and Tommy, and half-sisters Pat (Larry) Evans and Linda (David) Miller, all from the Minerva area. He is also survived by his grandson Ryan Davies of Waynesburg, 3 step-grandchildren Aaron Burns of Alliance, and Lance Burns of Cincinnati, and Jona Burns of Canton, 2 step-greatgrandchildren, Landon and Autumn Burns, of Cincinnati, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be greatly missed by his longtime friend, Pat Scott of Frankfort, Indiana.
After cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a later time due to COVID 19.
