David Noel, 87, of Uniontown and formerly of Bedford, entered peacefully into eternal life on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 7:08 p.m. in his home under the comforting care of hospice, and his loving family.
He was born January 27, 1935 in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of the late Emery R. Sr. and Vicey Ann Marcum Noel where he graduated from Lenore High School.
David moved to Cleveland, OH after graduating. He was hardworking and was employed at Fisher Body eventually becoming a skilled millwright. As well, he was a member of the Teamsters Union at Tremco serving as local president for many years.
He went on to work for several companies before retiring from NASA in Cleveland where he was a plumber.
David was a member of The Light in Kent Church where he sang on the Worship team, built, and maintained many things in the church.
David was founder of the Freedom Road Band where he was manager and lead singer for 13 years from 1969-1982. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group of South East Harley in Bedford Heights and served as Director for several years.
David's love for his family was infectious and one of the most important things in his life was being part of the Noel Family Reunion for more than 45 years. He was proud of his family and his heritage, but most important to him was his love for the Lord.
David is survived by his wife the former Margaret H. West whom he married on July 10, 1954; together they shared the love of two children Lawrence David (Mary) Noel of Tallmadge and Sandra (Roy) Holliday of Windham; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Bernice (Fred) Kirk of Mentor, Emery R. Noel Jr. of Louisa, Kentucky, and Charles (Shirley) L. Noel of Wimauma, Florida.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his siblings Chelsea, Walter, Howard, Lee, Fred, Ed Noel, Charlene Deskins, Louise Hagman, and Mae Osbourne.
A memorial service celebrating the life of David will take place on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Community Vineyard Church, 2543 State Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, OH, where family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the church.
Inurnment will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in David's name to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Suite E, Uniontown, OH.
