Doris Marie Allen, 98, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1926, in Baraboo, Wisconsin to the late Harley and Margaretha Powers (nee Henning).

Doris married Gordon Allen in 1953 and instantly began the career that became her life vocation. Beloved mother of Dennis (Sandy) Allen, Jerry (Diana) Allen, Terry Allen, and Karen (Kevin) Hayes; loving stepmother of Christine (John) Terpstra, Jean Allen, Gordon Allen Jr. and Rex Allen. To see them grow and make their way in the world became her greatest accomplishment. In addition to a Friday fish fry followed by a night of polka dancing with Gordon, she enjoyed the ten years she toured the country in a motor home upon Gordon's retirement.

She had the great fortune of seeing many of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids sporting events. Might be a bowling tournament, track meet, basketball game, and would often be seen at a softball or soccer game, and wasn't shy about letting an official know what she thought of a call.

She loved her crafts and with Terry as chauffeur, travelled the U.S, never missing a casino along the way. While she loved playing games and cards with her great grandchildren, she wasn't fond of losing, although her infectious laugh let all know she'd be back for more.

She was the cherished grandmother of Persephone Allen, Marc Allen, Kimberly (Alex) Thompson, Kathleen (Matt) Gage, Kristen Hayes, Kelsey (August) Stoten, and Kyle Hayes; step grandmother of Maureen (Steve) Busalacchi, Darcy (Rodney) Jenkins, Stacy Davies, John Terpstra, David Terpstra, Daniel (Jan) Terpstra, Jeremy Allen, Travis Allen, Greg Perkins, and Dawn Perkins; great-grandmother of Sadie, Brynn, Josie, Liam, Tanner, Riley, Carter, Olive, Hayes, and Finley; several step great grandchildren; dear sister of Marvin (Connie) Powers; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Well, I suppose it's time…G'ma was loved and will be missed by all.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon Allen; her stepchildren, Christine (John) Terpstra and Rex Allen; her step great grandchild, Joseph Terpstra; and her siblings, Ivan (Connie), Phillip (Betty Jo), Betty, and Don (Barb).
