Dorothy Skocich was born July 4, 1931 to Rollin and Clara Marie Goodhart in Akron, Ohio and died March 4, 2020. Dottie was a graduate of East High School and attended The University of Akron. A lifelong resident of Akron, she was a creative and inspiring artist. Because of her civic minded and charitable nature, she actively served as president and member of the Akron Public Schools PTA, established a school garden club and was a hospital volunteer. She fostered an appreciation of fine art, music, and culinary arts in her children and others. She loved to celebrate her Fourth of July birthday with picnics, viewing fireworks, and by displaying the American flag. After retiring as a bookkeeper, she cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Reading comic strips, watching game shows, solving crossword puzzles and meandering countryside rides were some of her favorite pastimes. She will be remembered for her good sense of humor and witty anecdotes.
