W. Troughton
February 13, 1936 – September 25, 2022
Edward "Ed" W. Troughton, 86, of Twinsburg, entered peacefully into eternal life on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 2:31 a.m. at Heritage of Hudson.
He was born February 13, 1936, in Cleveland, the son of the late Hilda Teske Troughton and was a lifelong area resident.
Ed enlisted in the United States Army on August 30, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio with hopes of being stationed in Germany, his mothers home country, but instead remained state side following the Korean War and was stationed at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. For his service to his country, he was awarded a Marksman badge and a Good Conduct Medal. Ed received an honorable discharge on August 29, 1958, with the rank of Private.
He retired after 35 years from Ohio Materials Handling.
Ed was a strong and faithful Christian. He enjoyed watching football and rooting for Lions, Brown, and Bengals. Ed enjoyed music and passed that passion on to his daughter, Lea. He often tried his luck with the lottery, and he has the greatest empathy for all animals big or small.
Edward is survived by his wife of 48 years the former Alice F. Davis whom he married on July 4, 1974; by his children Lea (Larry) LaCivita of Garrettsville, and Debi Whoolery of Cuyahoga Falls; a nephew who was like a son Jack (Barb) Whytenberg of Cleveland; by three grandsons Brandon and Stephen LaCivita and Brian Whoolery; by a sister-in-law Mary Cesaro of Buckhannon, WV; and by a niece Faye (Lyle) Eskew of Buckhannon, WV.
Besides his mother, Ed was preceded in death by a son David Bussey; and by his siblings Cyrel Troughton, Raymond Troughton, Herbert Troughton, Bob Troughton, Marie Troughton, Jean Gould, and Ruth Troughton.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.
Entombment will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg.
Caring and Professional Arrangements for the Troughton Family are entrusted to the care of the Crown Hill Funeral Home.
