Ellen Ya-Lan Thi (née Chen), 71, of Las Vegas, NV, sadly passed away on November 9th after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She was a friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dong-Shiuh Chen; mother, Chiou-Jiin Jeng; stepfather, Chien-Pien Sun; twin sister, Emily Ya-Chin Chen; and brother-in-law, Stanley Kuo-Jung Kuo. She is survived by her three children, Stephanie Thi, Matthew Thi, and Sabrina (Slava Dade) Thi; their father and her former spouse, David Thieu-Linh Thi; her sister, Amy Yia-Fang Kuo; her brothers, Andy Chih-Chen (Anita Chia-Ling Huang) Chen and Jeremy Chih-Chung (Rui-Ling Gao) Chen; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews; along with countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.

Cremation took place on December 3rd, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at La Paloma Crematory; and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14th, at 10:30 am at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. A private inurnment at Crown Hill Cemetery for family will follow the memorial service.
