Obituary

George Lyle Clark February 26, 1938 – October 14, 2026

George Lyle Clark, age 88, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic. Following his military service, he built a successful career in finance, serving as a Controller and Chief Financial Officer for more than 20 years. As a Certified Public Accountant, he later fulfilled his dream of owning a small tax preparation business, working alongside his beloved daughter, Kim.

While George was accomplished professionally, his greatest joy came from his family. He treasured spending evenings and weekends at Geauga Lake with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. He could often be found cheering enthusiastically at soccer games, choir concerts, and dance recitals, always eager to support the people he loved.

George enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing computer games, taking walks along the railroad tracks, and picking wild berries with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed taking his faithful companion, JR, for walks and spending quality time with family. His kindness, steady presence, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him.

George was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Clark (Johnson), who passed away in 2008 and his brother Teddy Clark (2021).

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Clark (Leek), whom he married in 2010, and by his cherished family:

Daughter, Kim Thornton (Jeff)

· Amber Varnes (Dan) and their children, Madelyn and Hailey

· Kristina Crow (Ryan)

· Colin Thornton (Caitlin)

Son, Alan Clark (Ruth)

· Adam Clark

· Noah Clark

· Amelia Clark

· Amanda Clark

Stepchildren

· Bonnie Sears (Joe)

· Brett Leek (Eileen)

· Beth Ann Beck

· Jennifer Miller (Ricky)

· Ingrid Leek, widow of William Leek

George was blessed with 19 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life.

He also leaves behind his beloved puppy, JR, who was a constant source of companionship and happiness.

George's legacy is one of devotion to family, hard work, integrity, and love. He will be remembered for the countless memories he created, the wisdom he shared, and the unwavering support he gave to those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his love and influence will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
