GEORGE JAMES JOHNSON, age 82, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 28, 2010. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Jancie). He is survived by his daughters: Joanne (Gary) Nagy of Twinsburg, Marianne (Edward) Gullo of Conneaut, and Christine (Chip) Lucas of Sagamore Hills; grandchildren, Christian (Tracey) Nagy, Courtney Nagy, Stephanie Gullo, Jennifer (Daniel) Griffiths, Michael, Andrew (Samantha), Michelle, Anne, Nicole, Thomas, and Christine Gullo; great-grandson, Tyler Gullo; sisters, Sylvia Vecchio and Margaret (John) Repasi; sister-in-law, Mary. He is preceded in death by siblings, Maryann (Beau) Balmat, Emanuel, and Helen Welsh.
Born in Cleveland, raised family in Bedford and retired to Austinburg. Served in WWII, stationed in Japan, employed as draftsman for Jack & Heintz/Lear Siegler. Building inspector/councilman for Bedford and building commissioner for Shaker Hts. Former president of the Austinburg Grange and PERS, 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge of Bedford.
The family will receive friends WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31st, 2010, FROM 10 A.M. UNTIL THE TIME OF SERVICE @ 12 P.M. AT THE CHARLES R BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 8592 DARROW ROAD, TWINSBURG, OH (1/2 MI. SO. OF I- 480/RT.91 EXIT). OH 44087. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, OH.
