Gladys L. Chmelar, age 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends on July 26, 2015. Beloved wife of 55 years to late Frank Otto Chmelar. Loving mother Susan E. (Claude Conkle) Rosa, Nancy (John) Hlosek, Christine (John) Larker. Dear grandmother of April Rosa, William (Stephanie) Rosa, Clarissa (Puran) Polen-De M.D., and Stephen Dickman. Great-grandmother of 3 and great-great-grandmother of 1. Cherished sister of Nellie Hrivnak, Shirley Inman, Mary Spence, William (Carmen) Lea, Pete Lea, and Roy Lea. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents Luther Lea and Edith Metz; son Frank Chmelar; grandson Frank Larry Polen; granddaughter Michelle Dickman; and her brother Robert Eugene Lea. Gladys enjoyed being with family, camping, bowling, traveling, and the occasional trip to the casino. She is also survived by her dog Coco and cat Kitzy. Family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff and friends at Hamlet Manor for the excellent care that Gladys received while living there.
