IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gladys Wilma
Plueddemann
November 13, 1925 – August 15, 2018
Gladys W. (Jackie) Plueddemann (Mansell) joined her husband forever. Born to LeRoy and Gladys Mansell, Jackie spent her early life in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania. As a junior in high school her family moved to Akron, Ohio. At the same time the boy who became the love of her life moved right next door. She married Arthur H. Plueddemann July 22, 1944. In 1997, they celebrated 53 years of marriage. She was known as "Pretty Precious" by the love of her life and he was her "Sweetie Puddin".
At the age of 12, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and lived a Godly life. She taught Sunday School for many years. When her daughters were teenagers, she hosted numerous youth group campfires and sing-a-longs.
Jackie enjoyed sewing, making her own clothes, stuffed animals and dolls. She also had a large collection of dolls and trivets. She enjoyed reading Grace Livingston Hill books, watching Hogan's Heroes and Shirley Temple. She enjoyed being a housewife and spent many hours of enjoyment with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind her 3 daughters Sherrie (Bart) Oliver, Suzette (Jim) Bostaph and Calista (Ed) Woodring; her grandchildren Keith (Barb) Oliver, Clifford (Holly) Swonger, Jerry (Stephanie) Oliver, Shannon (Liz) Swonger, Tony (Chantell) Oliver, Tina (Nick) Tepus, Kerry (Joe) Luczyk, Brett (Adrienne) Woodring; 24 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren, Sister-in-law Mary Lois Plueddemann and many nieces and nephews.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at St. Luke Lutheran Community – Portage Lakes for the excellent care and love they provided her for the past 2-1/2 years. The love and compassion they showed to the family will be forever remembered and appreciated.
