Glenn Robert Novotny, 80, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 24, 1943, to the late Frank and Bertha Novotny (nee Zenisek).

Glenn will be deeply missed by his family. Loving father of David Thomas Novotny and Gregory Robert Novotny; father-in-law of Laura Catena; cherished and beloved grandfather of Hudson and Holden Novotny; ex-husband and dear friend of Sharon Stephula; as well as a host of extended family, friends, and colleagues.

Glenn was a teacher at Beachwood high school for over 30 years and was able to pass along his love for science to countless students. He also had numerous outdoor hobbies including golf, fishing, camping, working in the yard, and continuing his education while helping others at Holden Arboretum.

He will be remembered for his love and respect of nature, his infectious laugh and smile, as well as his intelligence and wit. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a life-long learner. He took pride in his knowledge and was passionate about sharing that with others. He could tell a funny story or anecdote like no other and was always willing to help others.

Visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. Visitation from 11 am – 12 pm. Service at 12 pm
