GLENN M. SOMERVILLE SR., age 82, of Aurora , entered into rest peacefully among friends and family on June 5, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Betty (nee Palmer); devoted father of Ellen Minch, Glenn Somerville Jr., Amelia Diczhazy and Alice Ledman; preceded in death by his children Gretchen Gould and John Somerville; loving grandfather of John Joseph Somerville, Lizzie Gould, David Diczhazy,Walter Diczhazy, Morgan Minch, James Gould, Marshall Somerville, Carolyn Diczhazy and Rebecca Somerville and great grandfather of Cierra Gould and Aiden Diczhazy. He spent his childhood on a farm in Pennsylvania where he learned to love gardening. Glenn''s father was a minister who instilled in him a fondness for hymns, which he played at the Mission Alliance Calgary Church. He was honorably discharged from the army in the Korean Conflict. He taught at Brecksville, Aurora, Solon, Kent State, and Tri C after earning his Bachelor''s and Master''s degrees in both Geology and Education with Magna Cum Laude honors at Kent State University. He was one of the founders of the Solon S.E.A. Teacher''s Union. He thought the world of his pupils during his 35 years of teaching. He retired in 1985. He relished writing letters to the editor in the Akron Beacon Journal, Plain Dealer, Record Courier and Aurora Advocate. His grandchildren reveled in his stories, unbirthday presents, overalls, yellow socks, and his love for Hank Williams.
