IRENE DIAS, of Stow, died April 30, 2006. She attended Akron Public Schools. After graduating from Garfield High, she worked a few years at The B FGoodrich Co. while attending Akron University. At an early age she developed a passion for classical music that eventually expanded to include the New York Metropolitan Opera''s annual tour to Cleveland and, The Cleveland Orchestra Summer Concert series. She was a former member of Tuesday Musical, The Cuyahoga Falls Music Club and volunteered as an usher for Children''s Concerts. In recent years she hosted, in her home, an opera music appreciation group. Irene also had a deep appreciation for art and literature. For the past ten years, she has been the Regional Coordinator of the Ohio North Coast Region of The Jane Austen Society of North America. She served two terms on theNorth America Board of Directors. She organized a Shakespeare Group and hosted monthly meetings to view and discuss videos. Irene was a very caring and giving person. She possessed a unique charm and wit that touched the lives of all who new her in a very special way. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Henry and Mae Mandley and brothers Kenneth and Paul. She is survived by her husband Howard, sister Betty DeMarco of Cuyahoga Falls and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on SATURDAY MAY 6, 2006, 2:00 PM AT THE BLESSING FUNERAL HOME AT CROWN HILL, 8592 DARROW RD.
