Irene Nancy Labas (nee Bock), age 95, passed away while holding her daughter's hand on December 7, 2023 in Westlake, Ohio. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late William and Nancy Bock on March 19, 1928. Irene married Nick Labas, an older brother of her close friend, in 1949 after he returned from serving as a Marine in WWII. Irene and Nick relocated to Solon, Ohio in 1967 where they raised their 4 children.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Nick, her siblings, Elmer (Elizabeth), Glenn (Katherine), Lorraine Sarazen (Ron), William (Catherine) and her son Daniel. She is survived by her children: Debi (Gary), Donita (Francis), David (Robin), grandchildren: Arielle (Scott), Katrina (Dean), Nicholas, Kiera, Tyler and 3 lovely great-granddaughters.

Irene was known for her social, kind and generous demeanor. She loved the parties, but wasn't a party girl. She and Nick believed in their adult time with Saturday night dinners,  DYI home projects, progressive dinner parties, and ballroom dancing. They both valued time with children and grandchildren.

Irene's varied interests kept her young and vibrant as she aged. She enjoyed golfing, dancing, sewing, ceramics, bridge and mahjong. Although we may all miss her, she is now in a place where she can see and dance again.

Visitation and funeral service will be held at Crown Hill Chapel and Cemetery, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 4pm - 7pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 12 noon.
