IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Frederick
Adkins
December 1, 1938 – April 1, 2025
James Frederick Adkins, 86, of Streetsboro, Ohio passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025. He was born in Jonben, West Virginia on December 1, 1938, to the late Fred Robert (Tommy) Adkins and Icie Wills (nee Pegram). James was preceded in death by his parents, his step father Sanford Wills, and his brothers, Benny and Keith Wills.
James will be dearly missed by his family. Beloved father of James (Annette) Adkins and Michele (Mike) Palumbo; cherished grandfather of Jake Adkins, Grant Adkins, Jim Adkins, Lauren (Jason) Fojaco, and Matt Palumbo; loving great-grandfather of Jasper, Daniel, and Zach; dear brother of Johnny (Laverne) Wills and Loretta (Walter) Neely; and a host of extended family and dear friends. The family wishes to thank Shawn Rahm for all her loving care and support in being more than an aide to Jim.
As a young man, Jim moved to Ohio where some of his past times were bowling, taking care of his lawn, fishing and going out on his boat with family. He attended Hope Community Church in Hudson for several years where he enjoyed hearing his daughter sing on the worship team but, especially enjoyed when the saxophonist would play with them. He was a hard worker and had many talents—his family remembers with love his whistling and dancing. During his last year he stayed at his son's home where he enjoyed the horses and going for breakfast each weekend.
The family are honoring the wishes of Jim in not having a funeral service after his cremation. There will be a gathering in Mansfield to celebrate him in July.
His smile and laughter will live on in his loved ones' hearts and memories, but for now the Country Road will take him truly where he belongs—his home in heaven.
