Janet Secrist, age 82, passed away October 4, 2020.  Beloved wife of the late Melvin Secrist; loving mother of Melanie (Alberto) Vasquez and Sharon (Duncan) Badertscher; dear grandmother of Janet & Vincent Vasquez, and Andrew & Elizabeth Badertscher; sister of James (Carol) Antell.  Janet was an aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend to many.

She was a teacher for 30+ years at the Jackson-Milton School District where she taught many generations of third graders.  A 30+ year member of Pricetown United Methodist Church, where she was in the Bell Choir and enjoyed attending a litany of church events. In addition to her longstanding teaching career and church membership, Janet enjoyed puzzles, being with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren and anything that allowed her to display her artistic passion.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 2PM on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Streetsboro United Methodist Church, 8940 OH-43, Streetsboro OH 44241 (330) 626-4393, where all necessary COVID-19 precautions will be observed.  Due to the current pandemic conditions, there will be no calling hours. Inurnment will be at St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg PA.
