Jean Elizabeth Bleckert, 85, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Aurora, Ohio, died peacefully on May 20, 2016 in Fort Myers, Florida. The family will greet friends at Blessing-Hine Funeral Home on May 25, 2016 from 4:30 to 7:30. Burial will follow on Thursday May 26, 2016 at Crown Hill Cemetery at 10:30.

Jean was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Marguerite and J.D. Reiss on August 14, 1930. She went to high school at St. Josephs Academy and graduated in 1948. She was united in marriage to John H. Bleckert on May 30, 1949 in Lakewood, Ohio. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1987. They were married for 38 years. Jean enjoyed movies, sewing, travel and spending time with her family.

Jean is also preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Marguerite Reiss; a brother, Edward Reiss, a son Robert Bleckert, and a grandson Samuel Cullum.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Ruth (Joe) Cullum and Rosemary Brewer; a son, John J. Bleckert; five grandchildren Melody Boals, April (Michael) Bryant, Kristine (Rick) Meyers, Elizabeth Brewer, Ryan Nicotra; and eight great grandchildren Dalton and Kelsey Clapham, Tessa Meyers, Abby and Jonathan Bryant, Michael Schneider, Andrew and Camille Boals.
