Joan Anne Starkey, 81, of Aurora, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. She was born on August 25, 1944, in Painesville, Ohio to the late Woodrow and Frances Gardener (nee Hubrath). Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Connie Jones.

Joan will be dearly missed by her family. Beloved wife of Bob Starkey; loving mother of Shelly (Dan) Gyurcsik, Shannon Starkey (Fred Chafin), and Rob (Von) Starkey; cherished grandmother of David Chin, Lanny (Stacey) Chin, Anthony (Katie) Starkey, and Kaden Starkey; great-grandmother of Maxwell, Zander, Brianna, Parker, Piper, and Autumn; great-great-grandmother of Maxwell Jr. "MJ"; dear sister of Florence Mislosky, Kathy Bailey, and Janet Wilson; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Joan was a retiree of the Aurora City School District.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. A funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 9:00 am, also at Crown Hill Funeral Home. Entombment at Crown Hill Cemetery Mausoleum at 10 am immediately following service.
