John D. Davis, 95, of Twinsburg, left this world peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 2:40 a.m. at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.

He was born June 27, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Blum Davis.

John was a graduate of Shaw High School where in sports he played varsity baseball in which he lettered in and played football and during his senior year was all scholastic in football. John worked for over 30 years with Western Electric as an electronic technician / inspector.

He was a veteran of the Armed Forces serving in the Korean War Conflict.

John was an accomplished pianist; In his younger years having his own band "The Johnny Davis Band" that played and traveled down the east coast. During his later years, John  played in a small orchestra as well.  He played semipro baseball for the Cleveland Rosenblums winning the 1948 National Championship.  John was proud to be a part of the 1948 World Series which hosted the then Cleveland Indians; parking cars for the event.

He is survived by his wife the former Ruth A. Sauer whom he married on August 22, 1953; and by a son Kenneth (Ilona) Davis of Mantua and niece Bonnie Morris (Chris).

Family will receive friends on Monday, April 18th from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.  Those not able to attend may view the service live via zoom at the invitation 3611299365 with password 937772.

A Caring cremation has taken place and inurnment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg.
