Joseph Patrick Placek III, 65, of Aurora, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1960, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Joseph Patrick Placek II & Sheila Kathleen Placek (nee Devlin). Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jonathan Placek.

Joey will be dearly missed by his family. Beloved brother of Jennifer Polk, Jeff Placek, and Kimberley Placek. Beloved nephew of David Placek and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Growing up with Joe was always fun and exciting, with four siblings, and many cousins there was always something to do. Joe graduated from Aurora High School, then went on to work as a machinist at several companies in the Aurora area.

Joey was an easy-going person with a big heart and made friends wherever he went. He was always willing to help people in time of need, especially family and friends. If you ever needed a favor, Joey would be the first to volunteer. Joey loved his father “Big Joey” deeply and would spend many weekends together either hunting, fishing or playing golf.

After the passing of his father, Joey looked after his mother; cutting the grass on the weekends, fixing things around the house and helping her move to Florida for her retirement. We will all miss Joey! He was a kind and generous person. He loved life and lived it to its fullest each and every day.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 30th, 2026, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 342 S Chillicothe Road, Aurora, Ohio 44202.
