LINDA KAY (DAVIES) PELKEY, age 84, passed away at Kentridge Senior Living memory care unit in Kent, Ohio at 9:28 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024.  Linda was born to Samuel and Catherine Davies in 1940 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.  She is preceded in death by; her parents, her husband, Richard W. Pelkey in 2004, married 42 years, two grandchildren, Joseph N. Rumbold and Katheryn "Katie" A.  Smith, and son-in-law Ronald Canacci.

Linda graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania where she resided until 1962.  After marriage they moved to Ohio and started a family.  The family moved again in 1975 to Streetsboro, Ohio, until her elder years as health declined. Linda was involved in many things in life. In Girl scouts she received the curve bar (the highest award at the time), continued as a leader and had the first Pixie troop which was replaced by Daisies.  She was involved in PTA and was president of Euclid PTA, worked with preschool vision screening, was a poll worker and presiding judge for the board of elections. She was chairman for Thomas Jefferson bike rodeo, president of band boosters, and safety land director for 8 years. She was in Welcome Wagon, a softball manager for pigtail and ponytail leagues, and was the 1st woman president of Kiwanis club in Streetsboro.  Linda also enjoyed building puzzles, playing Parcheesi and she enjoyed attending Streetsboro Baptist Church and the activities with the church.

She leaves behind: her only brother, Daniel Davies of Pennsylvania, four daughters; Cherie (John) Rumbold, Sandy (Carl) Fischer, both of Ohio, Donna Canacci of Indiana, Rachel Hoskinson (Tommy Davis)  of Ohio, ten grandchildren; Jared (Sierra), Kaylynn and Janna Rumbold all of Ohio, Kristina Smith (Tyler Hudson) of Hawaii, Joshua Smith of Texas, Ashley (Ryan) Sivillo-Carroll of Colorado, Alexander (Gallagher) Canacci and Andrea (Sven) Johnson both of Indiana, Lukas and Logan Hoskinson of Ohio, three great grandchildren William and Annabelle Rumbold of Ohio, Raulin Johnson of Indiana, sister-in-law Mary Alice Pelkey and family in Idaho, as well as friends and neighbors.

A private graveside service will be held with immediate family only at Crown Hill Cemetery at 8592 Darrow Road in Twinsburg, Ohio on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.   A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Streetsboro First Baptist Church, 9001 State Route 43, Streetsboro, Ohio 44241 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, service begins at 1:00.
