Linda Holman Sterling

Peacefully in the morning of July 27, 2023, after gracing this world for 87 years Linda slipped away.

Linda was born August 21, 1935, in Ravenna, OH to the late George and Allegra (Ahl) Holman. She graduated Valedictorian of her high school class at Ravenna High School and went on to study engineering at Purdue University where she met her husband, Bruce Sterling. Linda graduated from University of Michigan with a BA in French. She was always interested in learning and was an avid reader.

Linda and Bruce traveled all over the world. They lived in Japan and China where Linda learned Japanese and Chinese. She loved spending time in Canada where Linda spent summers growing up and developed her love of the outdoors. She and Bruce created a 12-mile trail in Canada, Linda's Loop, which is registered with the Canadian Park Service.

Linda volunteered as an EMS driver in Hudson and sold real estate when they lived in Chagrin Falls. Linda was truly kind and always interested in other people.

Linda enjoyed gardening. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. In her earlier years, she was a beautiful skier and an accomplished golfer and tennis player. She was a magnificent cook and elegant entertainer. Always making others feel welcome and special.

Most of all, she was a wonderful wife, Mom, and Grandmother.

Linda will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bruce Sterling. Linda will be greatly missed by her son, Mark Sterling, her daughter, Sue  McKay, son in law, Brian McKay and four grandchildren, Ingmar Sterling, Onya Sterling, Morgan McKay and Sydney McKay.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087 on Monday, August 21, 2023, for visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm with a memorial tribute beginning at 2:00 pm.
