IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Jane
Kvasnicka
September 12, 1921 – January 13, 2020
Mary Jane Kvasnicka passed away peacefully January 13, 2020, surrounded by family members. She was the wife of the late Elmer to whom she was married for 54 years. She was born on September 12, 1921, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late George and Alice (Swonger) Addis. She was the sister of the late Ruth Sweet (Bernard) and the late Earl (Beverly) and was affectionately called "Babe" by her family. Mary Jane leaves her son, Jim (Kathy), and her daughter , Sue Lewis (Doug), as well as grandchildren Chris Lewis (Jen), Jason Lewis (Kim), Kelly Ulery (Tim), Tracy Lam (Kingson), and Megan Snow (Jordan). She also leaves 6 great grandchildren: Colin, Aaron, and Ellie Lewis, Jackson and Mason Lam, and Landon Ulery.
After their marriage in 1947, Mary Jane and Elmer moved to their new home in Garfield Heights where they remained until Elmer's death. In tune with earlier times, she was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker, which meant she was advisor, counselor, meal preparer, disciplinarian, and decision maker as well. She was also a gifted craftswoman skilled at knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She avoided outside interests so she could devote her energy to the welfare of her family. Her sweet, unassuming nature made her easily likable, and friends and relatives knew that her help was only a phone call away. Her generous and kind spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Mary Jane spent her last year at Altenheim's Shurmer Memory Care facility where she received loving care from their staff and from The Hospice of the Western Reserve. Private services were handled by Blessing-Hine Funeral Home and Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg on January 17, 2020.
