Merle Richard Riggs, 87, of Valley View, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 21, 2023. He was born in Marion, Ohio on August 24, 1936 to the late Ralph and Goldie Riggs (nee McConnell). Merle was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine Beatrice Riggs (nee Russell); his stepmother, Eleanor Riggs; and his siblings: Imogene, Helen, Charles, Jack, and William.

Merle will be deeply missed by his family. Loving father of Geraldine Beatrice (Charles) Algeri, Loretta Lynn Hunt, Victoria Lee Riggs, and Kathryn (Thomas) Flanigan; cherished grandfather of Joshua (Dana) Algeri, Justin (Alexis) Algeri, Cody (Lauren) Algeri, Kamie Hunt, Chelsea Riggs, Hannah (Cody) Jordan, Merle Riggs, Jacob (Page) Riggs, Abigail Flanigan, and James Flanigan; dear great-grandfather of Taylor, Lucy, Evaline, Mayla, Dahlia, Phoenix, Mackenzie, Adi, and Houston; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Visitation and funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. Visitation at 12pm – 2pm. Service at 2 pm.

Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, Ohio.
