Obituary

Norma Jean Walker, 93, of Avon, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on June 18, 2026. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 18, 1932, to Floyd and Reida (Roberts) Morehead. Norma Jean attended Kent State University where she received her Bachelor’s in Education. She also met her soulmate and husband, Robert Lee Walker, at Kent State University. Norma Jean was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Warrensville Heights. She also was a member of the Triple Trio Bridge Club where she could play Bridge with her friends. Norma Jean enjoyed music, films, traveling, and listening to music. She was a fantastic educator and prioritized helping her students grow and learn; particularly Arsenio Hall, whom she enjoyed following on television and films. Norma Jean cherished spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Stephen) Eierdam; and her niece, Karen (Andrew) Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Walker in 2016.

Cremation has taken place. Norma Jean’s place of rest is at the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio. Online condolences may be shared at crownhillfh.com
