Passed away Sept 24, 2018 at age 97. She resided most of her life in Maple Hts, Ohio, but most recently lived in Huntsburg, Ohio. She was married to Ferrell Weimert for 35 years. She had two daughters: Charlotte Zaranka (Robert) and Bonnie Csontos (Robert). Grandmother of Lynn Fridley, Robert Zaranka (Kelli), Robert Csontos (Michele), and Dawn Rhodes (Bill). Great-grandmother of 9 and great-great grandmother of 4.
She was born to John and Olga Geiger on May 23, 1921. She was raised on Woodbrook Ave in Maple Hts and graduated from Maple Hts High School in 1939. Siblings include: Larry, Laverne DiPaolo, Jack, Jean Case Quimby, Harriet, Frances Houska, Lucille Gutzeit, Rollie, Sterling, Virginia Zelodec, Marie Smith.
Growing up they had a huge garden and canned a lot of the food for winter. Her father and the boys would hunt rabbits in the woods behind the house to help put food on the table. They raised chickens and had goat. Her father worked for Spangs Bakery.
Olga worked at F.W. Woolworths Dept Store in the Broadway/Miles area in Cleveland after graduation. She took a bus and street car to get there. She met her future husband, Ferrell, there. He went into the Army during WWII and was a switchboard operator. He installed, operated and did maintenance on portable and battery type switchboards. He worked under hazardous conditions in N Africa, Sardinia, Corsica, France and Germany. She got her engagement ring in a box of candy that he had sent to her by his parents while in the service.
During WWII she worked at Lemco on Dunham Rd in Maple Hts making bomb casings. After getting married, she lived in Wapakoneta, Ohio for 3 years, before moving back to Maple Hts. She then stayed home to raise her family.
She was a great housekeeper. She never met a dust cloth she didn't like!
