Paul Takacs "Poppi" of Brecksville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 20, 2025, surrounded by those he loved dearest.

Paul was the beloved husband of Laraine Takacs for 54 years, loving father of Paul (Josh), (Krista) and Chris; cherished grandfather of Chloe, Casey and Lucas Takacs; dear brother of Carol (Kevin) Zacovic; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Paul was born on March 16, 1942, in Akron, Ohio to the late Paul and Midlred Takacs (nee Fluder). Paul met his life partner Laraine in 1970, and they got married in 1971, Together, they resided in Northeast Ohio for a little over 55 years.

Anyone who knew Paul, knew he not only lived for his family, but also his passion for his career. Paul had an extensive engineering career, working on projects that included testing the color of tennis balls, creating machines that built catalytic converters and even as far as helping to design parts for the space shuttle. Paul founded MP Technologies in 1985 and dedicated much of his time and energy to what he considered his extended family until finally retiring in 2018 at the age of 76.

Paul was an avid fan of all things Cleveland, but none more than his beloved Cleveland Indians. If not at "The Jake" you could often find Paul spending time on his tractor cutting the grass or tinkering with his model trains. Paul was generous, loving, thoughtful, joyous, and supportive and truly always a realist. He will be dearly missed by all.

A private service will be held to honor Paul's life. Arrangements were entrusted to Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.
