Raymond George Niles, Sr. born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 24, 1943 to the late Bud and Georgianna Niles (nee Raymond), passed away November 18, 2024 in Twinsburg, Ohio after a long battle with cancer. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who dedicated his life to his family and cherished moments.

Ray was married to his childhood sweetheart, Carol, with whom he shared over 60 years of love and partnership. They began their journey together as teenagers, first meeting as neighbors before starting their romance at the tender ages of 16 and 14. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and commitment to one another.

Ray was passionate about various hobbies including golf, bird feeding and watching from his sunroom and commercial machine embroidery.  He was an active member of the North South Skirmish Association for about 20 years and enjoyed the thrill of black powder shooting. Ray was an avid sports fan particularly the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns.  He loved watching Fox News, NCIS and having fun competing with his daughter to see who would win on "The Price Is Right".

He took immense pride in his family and supported them in every way he could. He leaves behind his wife Carol Niles (nee Downing), his children Raymond (Christine) Niles Jr, Kimberly (David) Temple, grandchildren Sarah Temple, Zachary Niles and Ian Niles, great-granddaughter Anna Temple.  Ray is preceded in death by his beloved retired racing greyhound, Miss Elga, who was his loyal companion.

Ray is survived by his sister, Pat Eierman, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his animal friends who visited his yard. His legacy of love, laughter and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Solon United Methodist Church located at 5540 SOM Center Road, Solon, Ohio 44139 beginning at 11:00am.
