Raymond D. Rankin, 70, of Rootstown, Ohio, passed away on May 13, 2025. Born on August 21, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert Rankin and Norma Brinker (née Thomas).

Raymond [Ray] was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his kindhearted wife, Rebecca Rankin (née McFarland); his loving children, Cassie (Kevin) Brunswick, David (Sarah) Rankin, Eric (Kelli) Rankin, and Jeffrey (Emily) Rankin; and his cherished grandchildren: Alivia, Lillian, Marshall, Lilah, Strider, Hudson, and Charlotte. He was a dear brother to Randy (Donna) Rankin and a wonderful uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Austin.

Ray had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found joy in fishing, hunting, and farming—pursuits that reflected his hardworking spirit and love of nature. But above all, family was the center of his world. His greatest dream was to build a home on open land where his family could grow, gather, and make lasting memories. He lived that dream fully, sharing his life and land with his children, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.

Ray will be remembered for his strength and steadfast love. Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

A graveside memorial service to honor Ray's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Crown Hill Cemetery, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.  Celebration of Life to follow at the Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023 from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
