Obituary

NILES - Richard R. Raupach went to be with his Lord on Aug. 21, 2012, after a brief illness at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born in Cleveland on Aug. 31, 1942, and moved with his family to Austintown in 1952. He was a 1960 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. He leaves his brother Eugene (Margaret) Raupach of Austintown; sisters- in- law Linda Raupach and Connie Raupach; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jay and Iva Raupach, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George Raupach of Brookfield, Pa. and Jerry Raupach of Canfield. He will be sadly missed by his special friend, Gail Klotz, and his life long dance partner, Judy Conti Katsaras. Rick was a Professional Dancer and Choreographer and traveled throughout the United States appearing in Broadway productions such as, "Unsinkable Molly Brown," "My Fair Lady," "Sound of Music," "Guys and Dolls," "Wonderful Town," and many others. He returned to Youngstown to choreograph the musicals for the Youngstown Playhouse, including "42nd Street," and "Anything Goes," where he received excellent reviews for his outstanding work. He was Ballet Master for the Judy Conti Dance Studio for over 40 years and is lovingly known as "Mr. Rick" to all his students and fellow dance teachers alike. In 1975, he became an ordained minister with the Evangelical Church Alliance, and loved doing missionary work in Spain. He was very compassionate and caring for the needs of others. He taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir and the quartet, and worked with the youth ministry of various denominations. He loved the Lord and loved to share his faith with others. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Blessing Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road in Twinsburg, where friends may call at noon and his Christian Celebration Service at 1 p.m.
