RICHARD A SHORTE age 74 of Barberton entered into rest Friday July 18, 2014. Loving father of Pamela Crocker, Allen (Sabrina), Dawn (Derek) Hess, Kristin, Keith, and James (Melissa); Loving Grandfather of nine and devoted great-grandfather of one.
Richard will be remembered as a man who overcame many early life challenges to become a man who fathered 6 children, worked countless hours to provide for those children while living the example of a man who valued his family and cherished each waking moment that was spent with his children. In addition to being a proud and admired father, Richard was also a rescuer for those in need, especially those least capable of helping themselves as seen with his many dog rescues over the years. Richard spent his entire life working hard for everything he achieved as few things were ever given to him and while doing so, never felt cheated nor entitled but grateful for the opportunity to earn & to achieve. Richard found tremendous joy in life''s simple activities such as canning, gathering fire wood & walking his dogs on a daily basis. Richard will undoubtedly be missed by many but will live in the memories of those who knew him as he has touched so many lives over the years, with each being the better for having spent time with Richard.
