Richard A. Swanson, 85, of Olmsted Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 12:37 p.m. at the Village of the Falls in Olmsted Falls under the comforting care of hospice.

Richard was born November 9, 1937 in Cleveland, the son of the late Charles and Mary E. Speer Swanson.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and received the Good Conduct Medal.

Richard was a member of Brea Baptist Church where he was a trustee.

He is survived by his wife the former Solange Ziegler, whom he married on October 5, 1968; by two sons Jeff (Jennifer) of Olmsted Township and Erick (Georganna) of Cleveland; and by three grandchildren Madeline, Analise, and Spencer Swanson.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister Judith Kirby.

A wake will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.

A Funeral Service will take place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Spink as celebrant.

Burial will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Richard's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
