Robert C. Hansen Jr., 66, passed away at home surrounded by family on March 6, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Originally from Kent, Ohio, Bob attended Kent State University, was in the Ohio National Guard and was employed by Roadway Express as a freight handler for 33 years, retiring in 2001. A resident of Stow, Ohio for the past 40 years, Bob enjoyed working in the garden, volunteering his time in the local parks, beachcombing on Sanibel Island and fishing at the family cabin in northern Ontario. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra; daughter Erika Laine Hansen and son-in-law Robert Merwarth; sister Sheri (Pat) Roberts, and brothers Jeffrey Hansen and Gregory (Cathy) Hansen. Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life gathering will be held at Goodyear Metro Park at the Charles Goodyear Memorial Shelter on Newton Street in the East Room on Thursday, March 25th from 6 to 9 p.m. Everyone who knew Bob is invited to come and share favorite photos and stories.
