Robert W. Pernell, 84, of Streetsboro, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Grande Village of Twinsburg.

He was born on July 2, 1938 in Greenwood, West Virginia, the son of the late Gerald and Sarah Pernell.

Robert retired as a purchasing agent.  Robert also, as a young man, was a minister in two Assembly of God Churches.

He was an avid reader.  Robert has read the bible cover to cover three times.  He also read many books about history and became a scholar of history.  He was also an avid woodworker and loved to watch baseball and football. Robert loved his family, but most important to him was his love for the Lord.

Robert is survived by his wife, Carol, to whom he was married for 49 years.  Together they shared the love of two children Shannon (the late Nick) Yanoff of Aurora and Stacey Pernell of Akron; and four grandchildren Matthew Taft, Lindsay Yanoff, Madison Yanoff and Jackson Boysza all of Aurora.  He is also survived by his siblings Marilyn Pernell and Sandra (Robert) Shirey and by his beloved dog, "Chloe".

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Crown Hill Cemetery, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Robert's name to either Autism Speaks, Humane Society of Summit County, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
