Sandra Jean Sharkey, 81, of Streetsboro, passed away on May 3, 2023.

Sandy was born in Painesville, Ohio on May 3, 1942 to Dorothy and Edward Sharkey. Sandy was intelligent and hardworking.  She was a claim examiner at Allstate, retiring after more than 40 years of service.

Sandy loved thoroughbred horses and her equestrian accomplishments included everything from breezing horses at the track, fox hunting in Ireland to earning a medal from the United States Dressage Association on her horse Buster.

Sandy also loved Labrador retrievers and could be found regularly competing in field trials, obedience and rally classes.

When not at the barn or training her dog, Sandy could be found reading a good book with a few cats on her lap. She will be missed by her many friends and most of all by her best dog Happy.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and brother Edward Jr.

She is survived by a niece Helen Gebhard and many wonderful friends and acquaintances.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
