Sheila Kathleen Placek, 85, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 2, 1940, to the late Ivo and Rita Devlin (nee Balus). Sheila was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Placek; her parents; and her siblings, Rita Grachanen, and her twin brother, James Devlin.

Sheila loved spending time with her children, especially during the holidays and would enjoy having them visit her in Florida.  And when she couldn't see them, she always looked forward to their weekly calls.  Sheila enjoyed dancing, traveling, fine dining and making new friends. Sheila was also an active member in her church community and would often volunteer during church services.  Sheila was truly a beautiful person inside and out, and was such a joy to be with.  She always had a smile on her face, and was sure to put a smile on your face too.

Sheila will be dearly missed by her family. Loving mother of Jennifer (James) Polk, Joseph Placek, Jr., Johnathan Placek, Jeffrey Placek, and Kimberley Placek; dear sister of Michael Devlin; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Viewing will be held from 4 – 7 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 342 S Chillicothe Road, Aurora, Ohio, at 11 am.
