Shirley Rosa, 89, of Hudson, passed away on February 29, 2024. She was born on August 17, 1934 in the Monongahela Valley, Pennsylvania region to Michael Koval and Julia Mollis. Shirley went to study music at Duquesne University, where she received her bachelor's degree. There she met the love of her life and husband of 67 years, Anthony Rosa. Shirley privately taught piano to her students, and it was one of her life's greatest passions. She was an accomplished accordion and piano player. Shirley was also a talented painter and artist. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, family, and her community; always thinking of others and sharing her giving heart. Shirley found joy anywhere possible, and she was a beacon of joy for her family.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Anthony Rosa; children, Cheryl Anne (Dr. Anthony) Smartnick, Jeff (Nancy McKay-Rosa) Rosa, and Susan (Brian) Ritz; grandchildren, Matthew (Kendra) Smartnick, Johanna (Sal) Hekmatzada, Sam (Hannah) Smartnick, Ben Smartnick, Grace Smartnick, Nathan (Gabi) Rosa, Rachel (friend Markus) Rosa, Zachary Rosa, and Anne (friend Kaiden) Ritz; great grandchildren, Isabella and two on the way; and siblings, Maxine (James) DeGennaro, John (Debbie) Partezana, and Lynn Thomas. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather John Partezana; and brother-in-law Jon Thomas.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 4-7 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087. Please meet at the funeral home on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10 AM for a Rosary Vigil. We will then proceed to St. Mary Catholic Church, 340 N. Main Street, Hudson, OH 44236 for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Graveside service will immediately follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio.
