Thomas B. Cunningham, 69,  of Hudson, Ohio, passed away on May 10, 2025, after a long, valiant, and incredibly tenacious battle with cancer.   Tom was born on February 23, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Richard and Pauline Cunningham (nee Fina).  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lawrence "Larry" Cunningham, and his beloved dog Zeke.

Tom was a devoted husband to his wife of almost 42 years, Karen Davis Cunningham, and a loving father to their two children, Eric and Kathleen "Kate" Cunningham.  He is survived by his wife and children, as well as his brothers Richard (Brenda) Cunningham and John (Mary) Cunningham, his sister-in-law Laura Cunningham and her son Mark Dumm, and several cats and dogs.

A graduate of the University of Akron, Tom was a certified professional engineer, working in industrial settings and then as a consultant.   He retired in early 2022 from his position as vice president of CWWA, Inc., an engineering consulting firm, where he had worked for more than 25 years.

Tom enjoyed backgammon and volleyball in his younger days, as well as playing golf (he once got a hole in one!), playing video games, and attending University of Michigan football games with his brothers.  He mostly liked spending time with his family (though he would probably never admit it), and valued the friendships that he had maintained over the years, even over long distances.  Each spring, he enjoyed planting flowers and working in the yard.  Tom especially loved animals, and as a self-proclaimed "cat person," adopted more than 20 cats during the course of his adult life (and a few dogs as well).  But it was a dog named Zeke that captured his heart and was his constant companion for 14 years, until Zeke's passing in 2024.  Now they will be together again.

Tom will be remembered for his sharp wit, sense of humor, extensive knowledge of useless trivia, ability to argue any side of an issue, and his mastery of the art of sarcasm.  But above all, he will be remembered as a genuinely good person, a good son, a good brother, a good friend, a good husband, and a good father.  Our lives have been better for having him with us, and he will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tom's life on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.  Visitation from 3:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. and Service at 5:00 p.m.
