Violette F. Schutt lived a life in service to others throughout her life. She passed away on February 1, 2014 at the age of 94. She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin, parents, Joseph and Frieda Houba, and sisters, Mildred (Harold) Wood and Gertrude (Van) Castler. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Rick) Schmeichel of Hudson, and sisters Florence (Andrew) Luptak, of Mentor and Ruth (Dick) Stastny, Longwood, FL., and many nieces and nephews. She was a faithful member of Bedford First United Methodist Church, serving as secretary for 18 years before moving to FL in 1969. There she spent many hours volunteering at the Melbourne United Methodist Church, as well as teaching individual students to read and write English, and reading for the blind. She moved back to the Cleveland area in 2005 and most recently resided at Legacy Place in Twinsburg. Family will receive friends WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2014 FROM 10:00 AM UNTIL TIME OF FUNERAL SERVICE AT 11:00 AM AT BLESSING FUNERAL HOME, 8592 DARROW RD., TWINSBURG, OH (ONE HALF MILE S. OF I-480 Rt. 91 exit). Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
